The BMAHE Spelling Bee will be held Wednesday, January 8th at 1pm at the Bismarck Public Library.
Any BMAHE members in grades 1-8 may participate.
A Note from Alyssa about this year's Bee
Here’s how it works:
- Register student(s) competing in the spelling bee.
- Practice and learn the words. (I’ll send you tips to help you be more awesome!)
- We will all meet at the Library for a spell-off!
Grades 1-2; 3-5; and 6-8 will each have their own group. You will only be quizzed on the words on your group’s list unless we come down to a tie breaker. There will be awards and lots of fun!
AND the top two in each of the grades 6-8 (6 total), will be sent to the County Spelling Bee in Mandan!
Spelling helps us to write faster and better, and we try to make this contest as fun and stress-free as possible.
To register please send me the full name of each student and their grade/age level at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please let me know if you have any questions! Here are this year's spelling lists - https://drive.google.com/open?id=1DrOjcoRP9rutb_oTFE2YfXq3xFSlupSK
More about the Bee
The BMAHE Spelling BEE is a very low-key, fun, and rewarding event for participating students.
The beginning of the bee is much like an oral spelling test. The words will come straight from the study lists for each grade. After several rounds, if students have not been eliminated, words may be chosen from grade levels above the students’ level.
